My friend Tom found this place in Cambridge Mass, and we figured it was worth the time to visit it for brunch. We setup shop in Cambridge the day after watching the Pens beat the Bruins from TD Bank Garden and the Steelers beat the Ravens at the Boston Beer Works. How about them apples?
Lord Hobo is hip bar located in what appeared to be the middle of a residential neighborhood. Really good food and great beer. We annihilated the beer list between the 5 of us, each trying at least 3 different brews.
The big find for me was Dogfish Head's Poppaskull, which is a collaboration brew with Three Floyd's. An extremely difficult beer to track down (IL,IN,WI,KY,MA,DE?), Poppaskull lived up to the hype (amazing sweet aroma and smooth) and was the perfect first beer with brunch. Also, having DFH's Festina Peche on tap in January is certainly unique, considering it's their summer beer released in June. San Diego's Port Brewing had 2 beer on tap, one being Mongo and a few rare Norwegian brews, such as Nogne's Sunturnbrew, were also featured.
It was an epic meal but after the Bears, Seahawks game, we decided it was time to move on... To a brewery...
