Mead Day: August 7th

American Homebrewers Association has designated August 5th as "Mead Day" - an attempt to encourage brewers across the country to brew mead.

I for one, will be brewing mead. I ordered my Mead Yeast yesterday from Midwest Brewing Supply and have prepared myself by reading through this year's official mead recipe (as designated by AHA). I plan to modify my batch for a 1 gallon carboy.

Since reading Beowulf in high school, I've dreamed of making mead. The time has finally come...
