I get the feeling that people in Western Carolina are big bacon fans. It seemed to be everywhere we looked. We even found an ice creamery just outside of downtown Asheville on tunnel road that offered Brown Sugar Bacon and Maple Ice Cream. The joint was called Ultimate Ice Cream and if that flavor isn't ultimate I don't know what is.
Yes, I tried it. It was awesome. I also had their Banana Pudding flavor and it too was amazing. Probably the best ice cream I've had since visiting the Schoolhouse on our trip to Cape Cod last summer. Homemade ice cream goes really well with vacation.
